Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a nice
Holiday!

I got some quality time with my girls
and my husband...
which always makes for a nice time!

In amongst all the visiting, food and
...beverages...
my husband found an afternoon to hang this chandelier
that he gave me for Christmas.
(I know! good job honey!!)
Yaaay!

I have wanted to change this chandelier out since we
bought this house...but
I had such a huge list of other changes, this
one had to wait.

With Christmas being tucked away, back into storage,
I am gearing up for some more changes.
Next on the list is to paint the living room,
dining room, and kitchen with in the next few weeks.

...but I am having a hard time deciding which
color to go with...

Well, I think I will enjoy my new chandelier,
and have a glass of wine, then
contemplate my options ;)

Winter Break and A Happy New Year

Can you believe how fast this
past year has turned into a memory?
Hope you have had some time to
play...

We took advantage of a few moments...
but not nearly enough.

We live in a lovely part of the world.
Not only do we get some hot and sunny summers,

but we also get crisp, snowy winters.

Okay, not everyone would say that that is LOVELY,
but, I would. :))

I hope you are getting the time
and opportunity to enjoy your
neck of the woods too. ;)

Alright,
let's go inside and warm up!

We are getting ready for our
New Years Fondue.
It is always so nice to sit and eat and visit,
and eat ....did I say eat twice?
It's a tradition that I have always loved.

Here are a few pictures of our
 faux New Years table.

This was actually a setting for a roast dinner
before our eldest went back to school.

The view from behind
...open concept downfall....
 clutter is in full view!

I am wishing you a year full
of the good stuff...
what ever that may be for you,
family, friends, experiences,
all the things you can take with you
when you go.

Have a
Happy New Year!

Welcoming 2012

Happy 2012!!!
A fresh year, a new year!
We spent New Years Eve with our
 family doing a fondue,
Yummy!

This is our family :)
It was really nice...its always good to sit and visit and just
enjoy each other.

Highly recommended for
bringing in the New Year  ;)

But now its time really put the seasons decorations
to hibernation..for 10 1/2 months anyways.

Packing up our Christmas decorations,
 redecorating,and
 usually altering things a little.
This was a pointsetta arrangement but all the
flowers wilted away, so i took the red bow off,
pulled out the silver tule and stuck a
a candle in it. Now it can stay :)

I have no idea what kind of evergreen this is but
I think I will try transplant it in the spring.

This little niche is a future project, not sure
what is going to be done but something is
gonna have to change ,
ok a lot will have to change!  ..trim, paper
the back of shelf..or
hibernation...lol.
hhhmmm.

December Break

During Christmas break I go through a few phases,it starts
with a Decorating frenzy, then the cluttery
claustrophobia kicks in...
and then the...
where I am now...
 changing and rearranging
crazy lady.

Does anyone else get that way? Don't get
me wrong, I love to pull  all our treasures
out and we all enjoy them.

But there comes a point where I want a little
less out. So instead of packing all the Christmas
decorations away, I like to remove the
heavy greenery then I rearrange and
lighten the decorations.

Our New Years Table

I wasn't going to do a New Years table post... but....WHY NOT... after
all the fun of dressing the table...I would like to share it!

Every year for New Years we do a fondue...YUM

We use floor tiles on the table, under the fondue pots to protect
the wood, its funny but each year we adjust the set up
and the menu just a little.

It's so much fun hunting your house for a certain color or a
certain candle holder...the mixing and the matching.

We are up to 3 fondue pots now!

It was a byoc kinda party, (bring your own chair).

So much fun, we can't wait until next year to do it again!
Happy New Year!
