Christmas Cottage

CHRISTMAS!
I love it!
As soon as we have given respect to our fallen soldiers on Remembrance
Day, we start to decorate. In recent years its started the middle of November.

Christmas 2010

Don't be scared...it gets better :))

I think its so funny how much it's changed through the years.

If you dare to see more...
other posts from that year are
here and here.

Our New Years Table

Our New Years Table is here
We almost always do a fondue.  That is a tradition that we all love!

Christmas 2011

After painting most of the main floor of our home
it has made Christmas decorating a lot more
fun...see it's getting better, right?

You can see posts from
that season

Christmas 2013

A large project for me this year was
slip covering our couch and love seat.
A lot of work, but SO worth it!

Christmas 2014

The exciting part of 2014 Christmas decorations
wasn't even noticeable through pictures!
I found lights that actually 'twinkle'...
not flash but twinkle!

Come check it out
here.

Christmas 2015 was the year I removed the lights from
our artificial tree.  It was a tedious job, but so worth it.   We still use the same tree... a
lot of filler and picks, but we are still reusing!

I completely failed as a blogger for 2018 and 2019.
2020 I will make up for it!

New Curtains

I think that this multi-
purpose, 'everybody uses
for everything' room,

is definitely a lot closer to being
complete...I
need to plan something for that
big ugly back door!!

Its taken me a long time to
find material that works with the couch
and love seat, and will also
work when  I slip cover them...
Yzerman!

The reason slip covering is needed,
I just don't have the heart to move him off.

The wall color looks way off
in the picture below.

It does however, have
lots of neutral tones,
with layers or texture.
Cosy for winter.

This fabric was found at Fabricland,
they were having a huge 50% off sale,
so they ended up being under $100!!!
Super Sale that weekend.
THEN..
my mom has lent me her serger, wow
so much fun!  Finishing these curtains
was super easy.

Of course, I had to add a
 little sparkle!

This is when we first
moved in...
not very relaxing,
:/

I felt like we were getting there..
very slowly.

After a lot of painting, rearranging, sewing,
and saving, this room is finally
what I had in visioned
 as our family space.

Just in time to start decorating
for
Christmas!

I will show more of the
living room once I start pulling
out our Christmas stuff...
its not too early is it?
;)

Manning Up

Its come to my attention that our
master bedroom really
doesn't look like a "master"
bedroom...sorry husband.

Actually I would just like to say that everyone
of these teddies came from him..<3
I love them!
Pictures are of our three daughters as babies, LOVE
them too! :)

I kinda-sorta 'manned' this room up...
took out some of the ruffles, removed some
flowers, its perfect, with fall in the air.

I am still searchingfor material for curtains..not sure
if I would like to go white and airy or a warmer
neutral pattern.

I think that is a fair compromise ... his
Redwings
hat on the dresser.  :/
