Slip Covered Ottoman

Last week when I was down town I couldn't help
but check out VVs ..and found this cutie:)

Well actually she looked more like this...

until I made this sweet little
slipcover for her.

Reversible..i love doing reversible..looks
so much neater.

White on the reverse side, for a fresh look.

Hahaha, trying to be patient...just waiting
for a walk.  <3

So far its been a seat, a table, an ottoman, and even a stool!
So glad I stopped in at VVs  ;0)

Our January Living Space

I think I went  a little overboard when I put Christmas away.
I packed as much away as I could so
that we would have that clutter-free feeling.

But I found that with everything packed away , minimal
decorations and nick-nacks on display
our house felt empty.  Soooooo...

I went back into our storage area and
 pulled out a few things.

Dried roses, ribbons, some my favorites.
I took a table cloth that we never used because it
always seemed too bright, ripped it into runner
lengths and laid them across every flat surface...
upside down.  :)

Its never complete, but this is what it looks like today,
Happy Friday!

Home

Just playing in our house,
moving stuff around and cleaning...

and I got to thinking how glad I am that I get
to reorganize and tidy...that I have some chaos
to calm .

It isn't large but it is our Home.
Hope you are enjoying your
home too.

Welcoming 2012

Happy 2012!!!
A fresh year, a new year!
We spent New Years Eve with our
 family doing a fondue,
Yummy!

This is our family :)
It was really nice...its always good to sit and visit and just
enjoy each other.

Highly recommended for
bringing in the New Year  ;)

But now its time really put the seasons decorations
to hibernation..for 10 1/2 months anyways.

Packing up our Christmas decorations,
 redecorating,and
 usually altering things a little.
This was a pointsetta arrangement but all the
flowers wilted away, so i took the red bow off,
pulled out the silver tule and stuck a
a candle in it. Now it can stay :)

I have no idea what kind of evergreen this is but
I think I will try transplant it in the spring.

This little niche is a future project, not sure
what is going to be done but something is
gonna have to change ,
ok a lot will have to change!  ..trim, paper
the back of shelf..or
hibernation...lol.
hhhmmm.

December Break

During Christmas break I go through a few phases,it starts
with a Decorating frenzy, then the cluttery
claustrophobia kicks in...
and then the...
where I am now...
 changing and rearranging
crazy lady.

Does anyone else get that way? Don't get
me wrong, I love to pull  all our treasures
out and we all enjoy them.

But there comes a point where I want a little
less out. So instead of packing all the Christmas
decorations away, I like to remove the
heavy greenery then I rearrange and
lighten the decorations.

Is Everyone Ready?

I thought I was but as I sit here writing my list for the day I realize
... maybe not.
So today I will be wrapping, doing some
more baking, some shopping...blah....
and hopefully some relaxing...yah!

As long as our tree is up...

check!

All my Santas are out...
I can work through my list with
satisfaction.

We have collected one Santa a year
for the last 20 something years. :)
2005 I started to date them underneath.
(Sure wish we had dated them from the start.)
They range in price from
$0.99 to $99.

Isn't he cute!  Our newest member.. :)
He was at Winners for
about $14.

So off to work I must go.
Here's hoping that everyone has a
wonderful Christmas, enjoying all that
this season brings!

Merry Christmas,
Abby
