I have always loved the quaintness of the
Cottage Style. All the character and charm of
a well loved home. One that has the shelves above the doors,
stacked with books, pictures, jars and objects obtained from life experiences.
A Cottage that draws you in, instantly giving you a sense of
comfort and safety, that is my goal. That is my desire for my family.
So this is my attempt at making a newly built home into the
Cottage of my dreams.
We have lived in this house for about 3 1/2 years,
spending a lot of time painting and adjusting and recently
working on the basement. But my work is never really done!
I always have a long list of what I want to 'adjust'
Just click on the labels below the pictures

So come on in and enjoy our
Our Front yard
This part of the yard was done
a few years ago. All of the plants and shrubs have
filled in nicely, this summer I will show you how much.
Plus we have been working on a flagstone path way
to our basement entrance...pictures to come.
This was our entrance in 2012.
This is our entrance now...2014
which leads us right to
I am always so torn as to what to do about
this kitchen. I love the richness of the dark cupboards but I crave
the brightness of white cupboards.
Any ways this is our open kitchen today.
Or our christmas in the kitchen 2011
Our home had very bold colors when we bought it,
Progress in the dining room started the day after we moved in.
shows you how I have managed to fill the space up a bit.
There has been some more changes in the dining room
lately! More pictures to come on this too!
Cosy fireplace, very peaceful.
This was our living room before I made
slipcovers for our furniture.
A lighter look in the living room
Our main bathroom...
and the first bit of that gorgeous blue-grey that I
can't get enough of.
I am always changing up the master bedroom.
Here is the master bedroom before
My newly tweaked craft room.
Old guest room...Old because I have
painted it 2x since this post and I am still not satisfied
with it....my poor, poor husband. xo

.. which is very exciting
because, as we have finished rooms we have added more

Out the back door...
This summer I have big changes for this back
come on back and check it out!
Hope you enjoyed the tour!
I have been working on our
taking out the dark ketchup color,
and adding deep grey-blue to our retreat.
Filling the glass jars with bath salts and extra face cloths,
completes the spa like feel.
It isn't a very big space so
I added mirrors, sparkle and lots of white.
In this picture you can see how small it really its....
The colors on this candle holder work
perfectly with the wall color chosen.
LOTS of candles :)
( Ouch, a little blurry!)
LOTS of towels.
Hope your have a retreat,
big or small it doesn't matter,
just a spot to unwind and relax
