Our Witches Cottage

Over the years, like every other season, I have slowly been
adding to my Halloween decorations and without even thinking
about it I usually buy or make something geared to the witch theme...:/
Not something ...until recently..that I have done deliberately.

I think she is trying too hard to be nice!  hahaha
Sitting at the front entrance waiting for trick or treaters.

This was a frame I bought a long time ago and finally have a
use for it...holds a super good spell.

and a spider or two.

This is in our dining area, you know, the regular stuff..
spell book, spiders, eyeballs, rats ...

My daughter thought this should be the "sorting hat"
I would have to agree.

Our newest pet!  He's pretty tattered but he's cute.

I have found this beautiful source of inspiration!
and I am linking up for her Inspiration Friday
she has beautiful stuff and so do her guests!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures of our witches cottage,
and have a super day!

Working on Our Backyard

We bought our house a year ago, and everyday ...everyday I
have missed our yard that we had in Summerland.  It was lush
and private..so private I could sit in my pjs blog surfing all day and no one
would ever be the wiser....maybe a little lazy but really inspirational I loved those
days. There were large mature trees, fruit trees and a huge
hedge that went all across the back.  Well, our home here is a new
build so there was no garden, no grass ,trees or anything...on the up
side we got to do whatever we wanted (with in a budget) and make it ours.

This summer my husband and I, our daughters, friends and willing victims
got busy with us...thank-you sooo much ...we couldn't have done
it with out everyones help.

We knew that we had to plant a large tree in front
of the deck off the back of the house.  Hopefully  in a few years
it will give us shade and  privacy.

We actually had to build a gabien wall along that far fence you
see in this picture and raise the level of soil up about
3 feet. These fence panels were from Rona on sale and
my daughter and I stained them tudor.  Then we rolled
out a ton of sod and a few plants were planted.

Here are a few fall pictures..

What a Deal!!!

Found a super deal on these..

The glass hurricane lamps were 40 % off at The Bay.
So I think they ended up around $19 each.

These candles were on sale at Micheals for $2.99 ...they are nice and tall...
perfect for the hurricane.  I glued tissue paper to the candles to tone the
color down and promise to watch them when they are lite.

Mixed it up and... Voila!
I use these crystals a lot, they add just enough sparkle.

Our front door.

I just need some orange in or around the glass....
I guess I will just have to go to Micheals again.  ;)

Have a super day!

Decoupage Pumpkin Candle

I don't think I ever will.   :/

I made some for Halloween
and one for winter here ....

Teen Bathroom

It started out as a tub and some pipes...
no walls no ceiling just a cement floor.

Actually more like this....

You can see the back of the shower/tub ....insulation, scraps of wood, debris...
O the joys of construction  :)

This is a basement bathroom, with no windows so we put in heated flooring under the tiles,
and boy is it ever nice to have a warm floor in the middle of a
Canadian winter!

I wanted the vanity to match the rest of the house so we found
this one at Home Depot ...lots of drawers and large cupboard space
for the girls.

We chose a soft yellow so that it would be bright and lighten the dark feeling of a basement.

The shower rod is curved and it makes the shower/tub feel spa like. If you
are planning to put a curved shower rod in  2 things...make sure that there is
space for it and make sure it is one continuous rod..this one
is 2 rods and the hooks get caught up
on the spot where they connect.  :(

Another room done!

BOO!

And just when you thought I had completely fallen off the face of the earth.....BOO!  I m back.
We have been super busy around here!  Eventually I will show you all the things we've been working on..but please bare with me...I have also started hairdressing again, 3 days a week so please be patient...:) (thanks mom.)

I wanted to show you my new frame for my large hallway mirror...I bought this green and gold picture with a green and gold frame at v.v.'s.  The frame was the perfect size to fit over my mirror so I took out the picture and painted the frame...

then we attached the mirror and frame to the wall...soo happy with it.  Not a lot of work and it made a big impact on the mirror.

I cant believe the difference!

Mirror free
Picture frame  $12
total......$12
:) :)
:)  Hope you have a super day!
